Get to Know You: Meet CCMI’s Principal and Owner, Brian Matter

29 Jun 2022 by: CCMI  ,

Brian Matter, CFP®, CPWA®, CEPA, principal and owner of CCMI, is committed to being a lifelong partner with CCMI clients through all their highs, such as selling a business, retiring, or starting a family, while also navigating their most challenging life events. He understands that entrusting your financial journey to an advisor forms a special relationship, and he strives to let clients know they have someone on their side who puts their best interests first.

A Career with Real-Life Experience

Brian joined CCMI in 2010, after serving as a senior manager of advisory services at Ernst & Young LLP. Today, as a forward-thinking leader, he applies the same approach to financial planning and wealth management that he would want for himself and his family. His client work and professional achievements demonstrate his continual efforts to improve his practice in service to his clients and the firm.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Certified Private Wealth Advisor® designee, and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor, Brian specializes in helping business owners navigate their financial lives — including investment selection, risk management, estate planning strategies, succession plans, and retirement options. Additionally, as a business owner who went through a successful business transition when purchasing CCMI in 2017 with Matt Showley, he is uniquely equipped to share insights with other business owners.

As a husband and father, Brian understands our clients’ needs to design plans that secure and protect their family’s future, as decisions made today often affect multiple generations of wealth. He also serves as our chief compliance officer.

Always On the Move

In addition to leading CCMI, Brian stays active in the community, within professional groups, and with his family. He is passionate about giving back and being involved in local activities. Brian regularly volunteers as a Little League coach, at his church, and with his Rotary Club. His community service and professional affiliations include being a member of the Financial Planning Association, the National Association fo Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, and the Exit Planning Institute San Diego Chapter.

In his free time, you can find Brian, his wife Nikki, and their three kids — Emma, Kainoa, and Kekoa — looking for their next adventure, whether hiking, surfing, traveling, or exploring national parks.
