Living with Stock Market Volatility

1 Jul 2016 by: jhurley

Steve Forbes once said, “You make more money selling advice Stock Market Volatilitythan following it.  It’s one of the things we can count on in the magazine business – along with the short memory of our readers.”  The media uses the concept that Mr. Forbes articulated to stoke your fears – to make you think that even if the sky isn’t falling – it is only a matter of time before it does.  For investors who buy into what the media is telling them, it may greatly impact their emotions and cause them to try to time the markets or make rash decisions that can harm their portfolios over the long-term.

So what does CCMI do when the markets are volatile?  As Brian explains in the video, we gently remind our clients that they need to focus on the long-term outcomes from their portfolios.
